Citing the sources in MLA format was not difficult because I have been using MLA citing format throughout my entire high school career. It is important because we are using other people’s work in our personal essay to help our argument or idea. The only part that would be difficult in citing is whether it is right or not. When citing in MLA format, every little part is important. In class we discussed how to cite a classmates work when using it in the second essay. I would look over and read over each of my essays. For my second and third essays, I looked over each essay three times to make sure I did not have any grammar problems and I did my citations correctly. We had examples in The Little Seagull on how to cite different things like an article or a book. I did in-text citations after my quotes and I would do the author’s last name and then the page the quote was from.
