In my early essays and revisions, I looked for what I did wrong or right but after each essay we wrote I learned to look for what I could improve and to change what I thought needed to be fixed for myself. I used the book they say, I say for examples and help to improve my writing. For the second essay we had to use two other students’ food for thought essays and a previous student’s food for thought essay. Then we had to either compare or contrast their essays to Pollan’s article and main idea. I make two drafts before the final draft, one draft had five hundred words and then the last draft had eight hundred words.
I like to use an attention grabber in my essays so I start with a question. I just started typing to get all my ideas out so I could remember everything. After typing eight hundred words I went back and reread what I typed. I took out a lot of useless information that I put in the introduction. I put in more explanation to what my essay was going to be about and I fixed my thesis because that was the hardest part for me so I did not have one at first. Then I constructed my first body paragraph in a way made sense to my thesis. After I started using Barclay’s formula and used it for all of my body paragraphs. I made sure the quotes I put in related to each other and I explained it in my paper. Finally I did my conclusion and re worded what was important in my paper.
